If you are considering a laser skin resurfacing...

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a procedure specifically designed to remove superficial to moderately deep wrinkles, acne scars, sun spots and uneven pigmentation.

Laser resurfacing involves removing thin layers of the surface of the skin which is then replaced by younger skin growth. Most areas can be treated such as the face, neck, chest and hands.

THE BEST CANDIDATES FOR LASER RESURFACING
The best candidates for Laser resurfacing is someone with wrinkles, aged skin, sun damage, skin laxity or scars and you want an extremely effective treatment without much down or systemic side-effects.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF LASER SKIN RESURFACING?
Laser skin resurfacing has a good safety record as a reliable, outpatient procedure. The healing time is more rapid with the Erbium laser which causes less redness, swelling and recovery time compared to CO2 laser resurfacing.

LASER SKIN RESURFACING PROCEDURE
The procedure can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.  The amount of time depends on the number of areas treated and the depth of your peel.  The anesthesia required for the procedure will be general if the entire face is treated at a deep level or twilight anesthesia for treatment of smaller areas or lighter peels.  After anesthesia is administered, your eyes are protected with safety shields. The laser beam will be delivered through a computer controlled device that automatically scans the area of your skin being treated.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
Healing time will depend on the depth of your treatment. You may experience swelling, redness, scabs, and sloughing skin which may last several weeks. Your skin will have a residual pink or red color that will resolve over time.  You can expect 60 to 70 % reduction of deep lines and wrinkles and an overall improvement in skin texture and color.
